Rescue story
After receiving a report about a "blind puppy trapped in a wire cage," WEACT headed to the site of an illegal dog farm in Seongnam. It was a place where it was hard to believe living creatures could survive. There were old, dirty basins full of food scraps, trash and waste piled everywhere, swarms of insects, and a stench so strong it was hard to breathe. In this horrific environment, the dogs were trapped in narrow, rusted wire cages, panting and struggling to get through each day. And yet, when human hands reached out to them, they quietly leaned in and accepted the touch. We gave this lovable dog the name "Pie." Now we're committed to staying with Pie until the end, so that instead of painful memories, Pie can feel warmth and build a new future.
Personality
There aren't enough hours in the day for Pie! A lively, curious little explorer, Pie’s ears perk right up at any new sound and when something interesting happens, he comes zooming over faster than anyone to check it out. The world is still full of amazing things for Pie to discover: new smells to sniff, new objects to inspect, and anything curious simply must be investigated before Pie can relax. Thanks to this, every day is an exciting adventure for Pie, and life feels like one fun expedition after another. Watching Pie's constant, happy smile is enough to make anyone smile right back. But Pie isn't just about mischief and energy. The moment you start petting Pie, all the tension melts away and Pie turns into a soft, floppy little rice cake, showing off all kinds of affection. Leaning in for more pets is Pie's secret signature move. One moment running around joyfully, the next turning into a total cuddle-bug. Pie is a lovable friend who will never leave you bored.
With humans
Pie truly loves all people. Even with someone new, Pie approaches without much hesitation, wagging and greeting them, quickly snuggling up close to show affection. Pie especially loves staying near people and will follow you around as if to ask, “where are you going?” Receiving people’s attention and love is the happiest thing in Pie’s world. Strangers quickly become friends, and familiar faces get the warmest welcome of all. Pie is rich in affection and loves every moment spent with people.
With dogs
Pie has excellent social skills, greeting new friends naturally and getting along well with all kinds of personalities. Pie is a true peacemaker and knows how to adjust to match another dog's temperament, and much prefers playing happily together over conflict. Pie especially loves running and playing energetically with friends, showing the happiest smile while dashing around and roughhousing to burn off energy. That said, because Pie has such high energy, playstyles may differ with calmer, lower-energy dogs. In those cases, having a guardian nearby to help moderate the play will help build an even happier, healthier relationship.
Energy level
Pie is bursting with happy energy! However, since Pie is currently recovering from surgery on the left hind leg fracture, it will be important to focus on indoor play and bonding rather than intense outdoor activity while he recovers. Once recovery is complete, it would be great to help Pie release energy in a healthy way with walks at least twice a day and plenty of playtime.
Needs help with
Pie has not had much leash walking practices due to recovering from his left hind leg surgery, but he already shows no resistance to the leash and follows human guidance and handling well. Pie is also working on managing his excitement during walks.Going forward, consistent walking training and varied outdoor experiences will help Pie enjoy walks safely and confidently.
Health specifics
Pie has a history of surgery for a left hind leg fracture and is currently in recovery. Please avoid strenuous exercise or intense activity until recovery is complete.
Ideal family
Pie values time spent with people more than anything else, and is waiting for a family who can share everyday life with plenty of love and attention. Once fully recovered, a family who can enjoy walks and play together, matching Pie's energy, would be an especially great fit. Pie gets along well with both people and other dogs, and can adapt flexibly to different environments. In a home with another dog, Pie would make a wonderful playmate, naturally learning from and relying on each other for a joyful time together. But even in a home without another dog, Pie can adapt happily while soaking up plenty of family love. Housing type doesn't matter much either, whether it’s an apartment, townhouse, or house, as long as there are enough walks, play, and warm bonding, any space can become the perfect home for Pie. With a bright smile and overflowing affection that brightens everyone around, Pie is waiting for a forever family to share fun adventures and moments of growth ahead.
