Rescue story
After receiving a report about a "blind puppy trapped in a wire cage," WEACT headed to the site of an illegal dog farm in Seongnam. It was a place where it was hard to believe living creatures could survive. There were old, dirty basins full of food scraps, trash and waste piled everywhere, swarms of insects, and a stench so strong it was hard to breathe. In this horrific environment, the dogs were trapped in narrow, rusted wire cages, panting and struggling to get through each day. And yet, when human hands reached out to them, they quietly leaned in and accepted the touch. We gave this lovable dog the name "Lingo." Now, instead of remembering only pain, Lingo is learning what gentle hands, love, and hope feel like. WEACT is committed to helping her build the bright future she has always deserved.
Personality
Lingo is a joyful little sweetheart who runs straight toward love every chance she gets. The moment Lingo notices a person nearby, she doesn't just wag her tail. Her whole body comes alive! Starting with her propeller-like tail and all the way through her wiggling hips, she rushes over as if she is doing a salsa dance. To Lingo, people are life's greatest joy. It's hard to believe she was rescued from an illegal dog meat farm because she radiates happiness, confidence, and positive energy. She's incredibly smart and more than anything, wants to trust people.
With humans
People are Lingo's greatest source of happiness. She eagerly greets anyone who offers kindness, happily makes eye contact, and showers them with affection. She also loves to cuddle. Sometimes she'll quietly curl up in your lap or lean her entire body into you for a peaceful nap. Lingo absolutely loves being petted. She'll happily roll onto her back, inviting you to rub her belly and scratch every inch of her.
With dogs
Because Lingo spent much of her early life tied to a short chain, she initially didn't know how to interact with other dogs or communicate through body language. Today, she's a completely different dog. She now confidently races around with her friends, enjoys playful wrestling and mouthy games, and genuinely loves the company of other dogs. However, Lingo sometimes gets so excited that she misses the subtle signals when another dog isn't interested in playing. She is still learning social cues so she will benefit from continued guidance and positive experiences with other dogs.
Energy level
Lingo is a bright, energetic dog. Even after running full speed around a large play yard with her dog friends, she'll come indoors looking as though she's ready for round two. She'll thrive with at least two walks each day, along with indoor playtime or enrichment activities to help satisfy both her needs.
Needs help with
Lingo is still growing and discovering the world. She's currently adjusting to city sounds and working on noise desensitization. On walks, she may get startled at loud outdoor noises. However, she's an incredibly quick learner, and with patient, consistent practice, she's expected to become an excellent walking companion in no time.
Health specifics
Lingo is currently healthy.
Ideal family
Lingo is looking for a family who will love her as wholeheartedly as she loves people. She would thrive with kind, active adopters who can shower her with affection while patiently helping her build confidence as she explores the world. When she hesitates in unfamiliar situations, she'll do best with someone who encourages her with reassurance rather than avoiding new situations. She would love a family who enjoys walks, adventures, and making memories together. Lingo will do well as an only dog or with another dog companion in the house. If there is a resident dog, a calm, well-mannered dog could be a wonderful role model and help guide her as she continues to learn. This little ray of sunshine is ready to discover how beautiful life can be with a family who will cherish her smile and help it shine for years to come.
