Rescue story

WEACT received a report about dogs whose lives had been ignored for five years on the beautiful island of Jeju and rushed to an illegal dog farm. What they found was a heartbreaking scene. The farm, operated by the owner of a well-known restaurant, was overflowing with mountains of garbage, filth, and cockroaches. Seven dogs were confined to tiny wire cages that were so small they could barely lie down. The same hands that served food to customers threw rotten food waste to these dogs. They were neglected for five years on cruel wire flooring designed to make cleaning up their waste easier. Not once had they been able to stand comfortably on solid ground, spending their lives waiting only for death. WEACT could no longer turn away from these dogs. WEACT is determined to restore the simple rights these dogs should always have had: clean food, a warm place to sleep, and a life filled with love and care. Now that they have escaped the hellish farm, WEACT will stand by them until they can begin a second life as beloved family companions.

Personality

Meet Suan, the "super dog" whose incredible friendliness and boundless energy make every day feel like a celebration! Anyone who meets him falls in love with him. Suan loves people. Even with complete strangers, he greets them like a best friend he has known for ten years, happily sticking his face right up to them. At the rescue center, he's famous for enthusiastically introducing himself to everyone. And after saying hello? It's time to play! Cushions, blankets, and even fallen leaves become toys in Suan's eyes. Anything he finds can turn into a source of endless fun, and he throws himself into play with unmatched enthusiasm. After playtime comes one of his favorite activities: eating! Suan is a true foodie who loves just about every kind of food. The moment he hears the rustling of a treat bag, he'll appear out of nowhere with sparkling eyes and a wagging tail that's impossible to resist. Even after the hardest day, spending just a few seconds watching Suan reminds you how precious life is and how much joy there is to be found.

With humans

Watch out for this fluffy little bulldozer! Suan loves people. To him, there's no such thing as a stranger. He greets everyone with a tail that wags so hard it looks like it might fall off. He welcomes everyone with unconditional happiness, and it's impossible not to smile when you see him. He's comfortable being touched anywhere on his body and happily leans into your touch. If you stop petting him, he'll immediately ask for more with irresistible charm.

With dogs

Suan is gentle and friendly with female dogs and loves playing rough-and-tumble ("crocodile") games with dog friends he gets along with. However, he can be more cautious around unfamiliar male dogs. He may become alert, tense, or occasionally try to establish himself with a bit of posturing. Fortunately, he settles down quickly with calm guidance. It is important to supervise and guide his first introductions to unfamiliar dogs. Once he's made a friend, though, he's all smiles and happily wrestles and plays with them.

Energy level

Suan is an unstoppable bundle of energy. At least two walks a day are recommended for him. Not only does he enjoy indoor tug games and zoomies, but he also loves exercise and outdoor adventures.

Needs help with

Suan has an adorable habit of picking up anything he finds and carrying it around in his mouth. Rather than trying to forcibly take objects away, please teach him the "Out" cue by exchanging the item for a tastier treat or an appropriate toy. Positive reinforcement training like this will help him grow into an even more wonderful super dog.Suan is also currently practicing leash walks. He may get overly excited during walks, but with proper guidance, he can be redirected quickly and without difficulty.
