Rescue story

WEACT received a tip about a rescue situation that led them to a quiet neighborhood in Suncheon, but their navigation didn't take them to some remote mountain hideaway; it led straight into a new town development. Right beside the peaceful daily lives of ordinary people, a brutal slaughter operation was taking place just steps away. The perpetrator carefully called out the names of his own pet dogs and lovingly fed them treats. He had even attached name tags with phone numbers to their collars so no one would mistake them for strays. Slaughterers often keep a select few dogs as "pets," calling them family and insisting they could never give them up. But that doesn't change the truth of who this person was: someone who could lovingly care for his own dogs with one hand, while ending the lives of other dogs just as easily with the other. WEACT moved with a single goal, to stop the slaughter, but by the time they arrived, the scene had already been cleared. Days earlier, after receiving a report, city officials had swiftly moved the dogs in danger of slaughter to the city shelter, saving their lives. Unfortunately, the slaughterhouse owner mobilized people to hastily tear down the site, erasing most of the evidence. WEACT rescued seven dogs in total: six who had been moved to the city shelter, and one more who had belonged to the slaughterer himself. There is no reason for lives capable of becoming family to be reduced to meat. We are giving these dogs new names, Danchu, Koa, Pako, Vinci, Huni, Hachu, and Hito, in place of "the slaughterhouse dogs," and working to find each one a loving home where they can finally live in comfort and peace.

Personality

Meet Huni, handsome on the outside and just as wonderful on the inside! Huni is a happy-go-lucky boy whose bright, joyful energy is contagious. When he's excited, he celebrates with his whole body, and whenever he sees someone he loves, he greets them as if they're family returning home after a long trip, jumping up and down with pure excitement. One of Huni's biggest charms is his genuine, innocent personality. He finds joy in the simplest things and, when he's having fun, races around like a carefree puppy, making the most of every happy moment. Huni also wears his heart on his sleeve. When he's happy, everyone knows it. His joyful spirit and positive outlook shine through in everything he does, bringing smiles to everyone around him. He lives every day to the fullest, embracing each moment with excitement and love. With his bright personality, playful spirit, and affectionate heart, Huni has a special way of making everyone around him happier.

With humans

Huni absolutely loves people. He has such a warm and open heart that even someone he's just met quickly becomes a friend. Whenever he sees someone he knows, he greets them as if they're a long-lost family member, wagging his tail with excitement and bouncing around with pure joy. Even if you've only been gone for a few hours, Huni will welcome you back as though it's been years since he last saw you. Being close to people is one of Huni's favorite things. He'll happily stay by your side, always looking for a way to be just a little closer. If you're sitting down, don't be surprised if he circles around you, hoping to be picked up and cuddled. If you're looking for a dog who will shower you with unconditional love and make you feel missed every time you come home, Huni is your perfect match.

With dogs

Huni has excellent social skills with other dogs. Even when meeting a new friend for the first time, he greets them politely and gets along well with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. He truly enjoys spending time with other dogs and naturally builds positive relationships with them. Because he loves playing so much, he can sometimes get a little overexcited and approach his friends with enthusiastic puppy energy. That said, Huni is never aggressive and doesn't seek conflict. As he continues to gain experience and mature, he's becoming an even more polite and well-mannered playmate.

Energy level

Huni is a lively, energetic boy who loves exploring the world and running around with joy. To help him stay happy and healthy, he'll thrive with at least two walks a day, along with plenty of playtime to burn off his energy.

Needs help with

Huni is currently practicing leash walks. He is still gaining experience with the outside world, so he may occasionally pause during walks to observe his surroundings or investigate unfamiliar sounds. With continued positive experiences and gentle encouragement, he'll naturally grow into a more confident walking companion. Huni prefers outdoor potty. If his future home requires indoor potty training, he'll need a little time and patient guidance to become comfortable using pee pads.

Health specifics

Huni is currently in excellent health. He may drool during car rides due to motion sickness, but otherwise has no known health concerns.

Ideal family

For Huni, nothing is more important than spending time with his people. More than simply sharing a home, he's looking for a family who will enjoy connecting with him through everyday moments, making eye contact, talking to him, and including him in their daily life. Huni is full of love and isn't shy about showing it. He'll greet you with unmatched excitement, celebrate your return with joyful tail wags and happy hops, and fill your days with affection.
