Rescue story
WEACT received a shocking report about a dog who could barely take a step, struggling to move under the weight of a tumor as large as a rock. After seeing the photos, the team rushed to the site immediately. The massive tumor dragged along the ground every time he moved, causing open wounds and making even basic actions, including relieving herself, extremely difficult. The situation was even more serious than expected. In the deepest part of the backyard, hidden beneath trees where little sunlight reached, we discovered a wooden box. Inside were several frightened puppies, only about six months old, huddled together and trembling in fear, surrounded by their own waste. WEACT rescued all eight dogs from the property and Solsol was one of them.
Personality
Solsol grew up in an unfamiliar and frightening environment before she could experience the warmth of human touch. Because of that, she can still be a little cautious at first. But she is no longer the puppy who only feels scared. These days, Solsol is bravely exploring the world around her. She will quietly come closer to say hello, sniff gently, and look around with curious eyes. She loves running and playing with her dog friends and happily carries around toys and plushies like the young puppy she still is. Solsol is growing a little braver every day. She is a sweet girl who is learning to trust and blossom at her own gentle pace. With patience and love, she will become a truly wonderful family member.
With humans
When Solsol was first rescued, she would panic even when simply sharing the same space with people. She sometimes showed stress behaviors, such as spinning in circles. Since then, she has been gently introduced to a safe environment where she could observe people from a comfortable distance. She has made steady progress through bond forming activities, including hand-feeding. Now, she allows gentle touches from people she is familiar with and even asks for treats! She may still feel a bit overwhelmed when meeting new people one-on-one or when touched too quickly, but she is already showing many positive changes. Solsol is on a beautiful journey of learning to trust, and we hope you will cheer her on as she continues to grow.
With dogs
Solsol is very social with other dogs and seems happy to make friends with just about everyone she meets. Since she is still young, she is still learning proper dog manners and can sometimes play a little rough, but she is improving as she spends time with her friends. Having another dog to play and grow up with would help Solsol feel more comfortable, confident, and happy.
Energy level
Solsol has a fairly high energy level and will need at least two walks a day. She especially loves running and playing with her dog friends and shows great interest in toys and games. With regular exercise and opportunities for different activities and experiences, she will continue to grow into a more confident and well-balanced dog.
Needs help with
As Solsol is still a young puppy, she is continuing to learn many new things. She can be sensitive to changes in her environment and is still adjusting to walking on a leash, so she will benefit from slow, step-by-step leash training. She will also need continued guidance with house training and crate training as she grows. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Solsol will keep gaining confidence and learning quickly.
Health specifics
Solsol is growing up healthy and doing well overall. However, she may get carsick during long distance car rides.
Ideal family
Because Solsol once had a strong fear of people, having a friendly resident dog could help her feel more comfortable and adjust more easily in a new home. She is still young and going through an important stage of development, so she will need a family who can offer patience, time, and gentle guidance as she continues learning about the world. Solsol will do best with a family who understands that trust takes time. With kindness, patience, and love, she will continue to blossom and become a happy, confident dog.
