Rescue story
#SaveUsProject is a long-term rescue initiative by WEACT, focused on saving dogs at risk of euthanasia in municipal shelters and caring for them until they find loving homes. Many of these dogs have already endured hardship, whether from life on the streets, accidents, or abuse. Even after arriving at shelters, they often remain unseen and continue to face an uncertain future. After coming across a dog with injuries and dried blood around the eyes, WEACT set out for the Nonsan animal shelter in January 2026. Upon arrival, the shelter was filled with the sounds of distressed dogs, and it was impossible to walk away with just one. That day, eight dogs were rescued, marking the beginning of the first #SaveUsProject rescue of the new year.
Personality
Meet Choppa, a sweet girl full of love, charm, and affection!
Choppa greets everyone with a bright smile and a joyful heart. Even a small toy or treat makes her wiggle her whole body with happiness. Her pure, cheerful smile and endless affection can melt anyone’s heart. She is also very smart. Even while running around excitedly in the play yard, she turns around and comes right back when called. Choppa knows how to express what she wants and truly enjoys communicating with people.
With humans
Choppa absolutely loves people. She is a social butterfly who rarely shows hesitation, even with strangers. She happily approaches new people, wagging her tail and asking for attention. To Choppa, people are not just companions; they are friends she can share joy with and lean on.
With dogs
Choppa is also very social with other dogs. She gets along well with friends of different genders and sizes and shows a bright, stable attitude around them. She has good manners and knows how to be considerate of other dogs.
Energy level
Choppa is an energetic and lively girl. She enjoys playing with toys on her own and also loves running around with dog friends. She would benefit from at least two walks a day so she can release her energy in a healthy and positive way.
Needs help with
Choppa sees training as a fun opportunity to communicate with people and build happy memories together. She responds well to praise, attention, and encouragement. She prefers outdoor potty, so indoor potty training is still something she needs to work on. With consistency, patience, and lots of praise, smart Choppa should adjust well.
Health specifics
Choppa is currently very healthy.
Ideal family
Choppa would do best with a family that can spend plenty of time with her, as she loves both giving and receiving affection. She would be happiest in a home where she can share daily life, make eye contact, and build a close bond with her people. Because she has an active personality, a family that enjoys walks and outdoor activities would be a great match. Since she likes and depends on dog friends, she may also do well in a home with another dog. However, she can also adjust well as an only dog if her family can give her enough time, love, and attention.
Choppa does not ask for anything grand. All she needs is a family who will warmly accept her heart and smile with her. She is ready to return every bit of love she receives and even more.
