Rescue story
In March 2025, WEACT rushed out before dawn after hearing that wildfires were rapidly spreading in the Gyeongnam–Sancheong area. With trucks loaded with water, food, and rescue equipment, the team headed straight into the fire zone. The fires quickly spread across Uiseong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Andong. Some dogs managed to escape, but many were tied up and couldn’t run away. Those dogs were trapped in the flames, unable to move even a single step. Some dogs collapsed after suffering severe burns. Others barely survived, escaping death by just moments—but still endured immense pain. That’s where we met Zenne.
Personality
“Catch me if you can!” - Meet Zenne, our adorable bundle of energy! Zenne is a playful, high-energy dog who loves to bounce around and make everyone smile. With her strong little legs, she explores the world enthusiastically, and her bright, curious eyes are always full of mischief. She’s officially one of WEACT’s “energy boosters.” But here’s the twist—despite all that energy, Zenne can be a bit shy at first. Once she warms up though, she quickly turns into a total cuddle bug who loves attention and affection. She’s a sweet, loving dog who isn’t shy about showing her love once she feels safe.
With humans
Zenne loves people, but she does need a little time to adjust to new faces and environments. If you give her space and let her move at her own pace, she’ll quickly open up—rewarding you with happy smiles, playful zoomies, and adorable antics.
With dogs
Zenne gets along well with other dogs and enjoys making friends. Sometimes, her excitement gets the best of her and she may rush in a bit too enthusiastically, which can overwhelm other dogs. Please monitor her interactions with other dogs so she can match their pace.
Energy level
Zenne needs at least two walks a day, along with playtime. Regular exercise helps her release her energy in a positive, healthy way.
Needs help with
Zenne walks well on a leash and is crate trained. She is a smart, playful girl, so please continue to train Zenne with consistent leash walking so she can enjoy her walks happily going forward. Zenne prefers doing her potty outdoors. If indoor potty training is needed, please train her with slow and patient guidance to adjust!
Health specifics
Zenne is overall healthy! Although her wildfire injuries have been treated, scars may still remain.
Ideal family
Zenne is ready to run—not alone, but with her forever family. Her dreams of days filled with running, playing, and exploring the world together. Zenne loves being active and would thrive with a family that enjoys outdoor adventures and spending time together. Whether there are other dogs in the home or not doesn’t matter much to Zenne. What matters most is having a family who treats her like a true companion. With the right family, Zenne will never feel lonely again. If you welcome Zenne into your life, be prepared—her joyful energy and loving nature will completely steal your heart!
