Rescue story

On a bitter winter day when heavy snow seemed ready to fall at any moment, WEACT received urgent reports of dogs being neglected in freezing temperatures. Without hesitation, the team rushed to the scene. On the rooftop of a house in Daejeon, 21 dogs were found trembling in the cold, relying only on each other’s body heat to survive the harsh weather and fear. What began as a single dog had grown into 21 through repeated pregnancies and births, left unchecked under neglect. They were forced to live on a cold rooftop covered only with trash and waste. After a long discussion with the owner, WEACT was able to rescue all 21 dogs, along with additional puppies born to a pregnant dog, bringing the total to 25. Shortly after the rescue was completed, a heavy snowfall blanketed Daejeon, a moment that felt like a quiet blessing for their new beginning. Now, Yomi has left behind that confined rooftop and is preparing for a new chapter in her life.

She showers even strangers with affection from the very first meeting. After enjoying something tasty, she gets so excited and hops around happily. Her adorable love for food really shines during training and makes her a joy to work with.

Ideal family

Yomi’s name comes from the Korean word ‘giyomi’, which means super cute! When she’s full, she happily flops over and shows off her round little belly, completely content. For this sweet girl, it’s not about the kind of home she goes to. What matters most is a family that will welcome her with genuine warmth and love. If there’s already a dog in the home, it would be wonderful if that dog has a stable and trusting bond with their owner. Yomi is bright and observant, and she learns quickly by watching well-adjusted dogs, helping her settle in and connect with her new family even faster. This lovable little foodie is still waiting, quietly and patiently, for her forever family.
