Rescue story

Haeon was one of several young puppies found living outdoors, where they struggled with heat, hunger, and illness. It isn’t known whether they once had an owner, but they were eventually taken to a shelter, where conditions were still very difficult. WEACT rescued 11 dogs from the Hwaseong city shelter, and one of them was given the name Haeon. Since then, he has been receiving proper care and the chance to grow up in a safer and healthier environment.

Personality

Haeon may be a little unsure in new places at first and may pause or freeze briefly, but once he feels comfortable, his curiosity truly shines. He enjoys puzzle toys and sensory play, and he often tries to figure things out on his own, showing a smart and thoughtful side. His round puppy face, short legs, and small, rounded body make him especially cute and lovable.

With humans

When approached gently, Haeon is happy to receive soft petting and attention. He may be shy at first, but he soon relaxes and enjoys being close and snuggled.

With dogs

Since he’s still young, he can be very playful and is still learning doggy manners. He gets along well with other dogs and adjusts easily in group settings.

Energy level

Like most puppies, Haeon enjoys playtime and gentle activity. Two short walks a day should be good. Because of a condition in his front left leg, high-impact or strenuous activity should be avoided.

Needs help with

Haeon is just beginning his leash training. New sights and sounds can startle him at times, but when someone he trusts is beside him, he settles well and becomes more confident. He is already learning to walk calmly on leash, staying close to his handler and beginning to understand basic heel positioning. With patience and gentle support, Haeon is expected to grow into a calm and well-mannered companion.

Health specifics

Haeon sometimes experiences motion sickness in the car, so short breaks during longer drives are helpful. He also has a growth-plate injury in his front left elbow, which causes the leg to turn slightly outward. Until he finishes growing, strenuous or high-impact exercise should be limited. Once his growth is complete, corrective surgery may be considered depending on his condition. He is currently receiving rehabilitation therapy once a month.

Ideal family

Haeon can adapt well to a variety of home environments, including apartments. A friendly resident dog would be a nice bonus, but it isn’t required. What matters most is a family who can offer patient guidance, steady sport, and a warm and calm environment while he continues to grow and build confidence. Because he may hesitate in unfamiliar situations, a family who can help him take things at his own pace will be a wonderful match.

Haeon, a gentle and sweet puppy, is ready to keep learning, gain confidence, and build a happy life with his future forever family.
