Rescue story
One rainy day in May, a soaked burlap sack was found abandoned in the middle of an isolated road where no one ever passed by. There were no people, no traffic, and not even cameras. It was clearly a place someone had deliberately chosen. Inside the tightly tied sack were two young puppies, bound together with a single rope. Trapped in a narrow space where they could barely breathe, the puppies trembled in fear and cold as rainwater seeped in. Surrounded by darkness and isolation, the puppies endured a level of fear that is hard to imagine. Thankfully, WEACT’s urgent rescue brought them safely back into the world. Even in those critical moments, their strong will to survive and the steady beating of their tiny hearts could be felt. With a promise of a new future, one of the puppies was lovingly given the name Chocolat.
Personality
Chocolat looks at the world with gentle thoughtfulness. In unfamiliar places or new situations, she may hesitate for a moment, but inside she carries a quiet and remarkable courage. She always moves forward at her own pace, slowly yet steadily, showing her determination to face challenges in her own way. Watching her grow step by step without giving up, despite her small body, is both heartwarming and admirable. Though she may appear shy at first, Chocolat is quietly building the courage to try things for herself. As you spend time with her, even her cautious nature begins to feel like one of her most endearing and lovable qualities.
With humans
Chocolat is a sweet and loving little dog who enjoys being around people. Because of her careful and thoughtful nature, she needs some time to get to know someone. If you take the time to greet her properly at her pace, she will accept your presence and gradually open up, sharing her affection.
With dogs
Chocolat gets along well with dogs. She just needs a little time to get comfortable when meeting new friends. Please monitor her interactions as she gets to know them.
Energy level
Please take Chocolat on at least two walks a day.
Needs help with
Chocolat is growing and learning every day and truly lives up to being called a little icon of growth. When trained at her own pace, she adapts quickly and shows just how smart she is, picking up new things with ease. She loves her walks, so regular leash walking practice will help her enjoy them safely. Please introduce her to new experiences and desensitization practices she can learn about the world.
Health specifics
Chocolat is currently very healthy!
Ideal family
Chocolat doesn’t need a yard or a large house. What matters most to her is a home where she can be with her family and create warm, happy memories. She would thrive with a calm and loving family who can walk alongside her at her own pace. Since she loves going for walks, a family that can enjoy regular outings with her would make her very happy. It doesn’t matter much whether there are other dogs in the home, but if there are, they could provide a positive influence and help her open her heart and adjust more easily. Chocolat is as sweet as her name, and she’s waiting for a family who can fully embrace her warm and loving heart.
