Rescue story

WEACT rushed to the site after receiving shocking reports of a dog struggling just to take a step, burdened by a tumor as large as a rock. The massive tumor dragged along the dirt every time the dog moved, causing open wounds and making even basic activities, like relieving itself, extremely difficult. But that wasn’t all. Hidden deep in the backyard, beneath the shade of trees where sunlight barely reached, there was a wooden box. Inside, terrified puppies only about six months old were huddled together, trembling in fear and surrounded by their own waste. Baram was one of those puppies. Along with the dog carrying the bowling-ball-sized tumor and several other dogs tied up throughout the yard, WEACT rescued all eight dogs from the property.

Personality

Baram spent her puppyhood confined inside a wooden crate, barely seeing any light. Perhaps because of this, human presence still feels unfamiliar to her at times. However, as a growing puppy, she plays well with her canine friends and explores the world with eyes full of curiosity. Little by little, she is overcoming the fears of her past, showing just how resilient and precious this young princess truly is.

With humans

Baram can be timid and scared when people approach her. However, she allows gentle touches in confined spaces. Due to her past, Baram is not at the stage where she actively enjoys or seeks out physical affection. Therefore, it would be best to approach her calmly and patiently at first, following Baram’s own pace as she learns to feel safe and comfortable.

With dogs

Baram is a gentle, social girl who knows how to get along well with her furfriends.

Energy level

As this is an important stage for adapting to and becoming desensitized to the outside environment, Baram will need at least two walks per day.

Needs help with

Baram is currently practicing leash walks and has been doing great. She follows the lead calmly and shows steady progress. Although she needs general basic training, she is a girl who learns step by step at her own pace.

Health specifics

Baram is overall healthy! She does get carsick and may have accidents in the car. She will need gentle support and gradual exposure to help her become more comfortable traveling in a vehicle.

Ideal family

Because Baram has a calm and cautious personality, she would do best with a family that shares a similar, gentle nature. Having a friendly, people-oriented resident dog could be a positive influence for Baram to learn from, but it is absolutely okay if there isn’t one. We imagine Baram on a warm spring day, a soft breeze in the air, smiling happily as a beloved member of her own family - her presence radiant and beautiful. We are patiently and lovingly waiting for the family who will become Baram’s spring.
