Rescue story
WEACT received a report about a dog with peeling skin scavenging through trash cans in order to feed her puppies. We rushed to the scene, but by the time we arrived, the mother dog had already disappeared, and only her puppies had been taken to the city shelter. Fortunately, we were able to take the puppies into our care, but we couldn’t give up on the mother dog who was still wandering the streets. Even through times filled with both life and loss, WEACT never stopped trying to rescue her. Working tirelessly day and night, we were able to identify the places where she frequented, but her deep wariness from years of street life made rescue difficult. After countless attempts, the moment finally came when she was safely in our arms. It was a miraculous reunion that took a total of 55 days. WEACT has now given this mother dog a new name, Boreum, opening a new chapter in her life together with us.
Personality
Boreum has bright, round eyes that shine like a full moon! She's a curious girl with many things she wants to explore, but her cautious nature keeps her calm and composed. Her adorable moments of twitching her nose with curiosity or gently circling around when something catches her interest naturally, bring smiles to everyone's faces♡
With humans
Boreum is gradually getting used to human touch. Due to her long street life, relationships with people feel unfamiliar, but if you extend your hand slowly, Boreum will gradually open her heart and become more comfortable having you by her side.
With dogs
While Boreum hasn't met many friends yet, she's gotten along well with most of the dogs she's encountered. However, it would be great if she had opportunities to meet diverse friends. When boreum meets new dogs, please supervise closely.
Energy level
Please take Boreum for walks at least once daily to let her enjoy the fresh air. Gradually increase the time and frequency so she can discover the joy of walks.
Needs help with
Boreum is currently on her training journey. She takes her time to learn new things, but once she understands something, she's got it down! She's already making great progress with leash training and is becoming more comfortable around people. With patience and consistency, she'll continue to blossom and learn all the skills she needs for her new life.
Health specifics
Boreum is currently living her daily life without any major health issues.
Ideal family
Boreum would thrive with a family who can spend quality time with her throughout the day. She may appear timid at first as she adjusts to the warmth and comfort of home life. But beneath that initial shyness is an endearing, curious spirit where she'll circle around anything that piques her interest and can never resist a good treat. You cannot help but smile when you look at these adorable moments. She is waiting for a patient family.
